Hinton is home to a 9 hole, par 36, public golf course, Deer Run. Deer Run Golf Course has tree-lined fairways, a creek, pond, and large challenging greens. Its facilities include a driving range, practice green, club rentals, cart rental, and snack bar.

Deer Run has golf tournaments and special events all summer long. Stop in, play a round, and visit with the friendly staff.

Punch Cards Available:
Punch cards may be purchased in order to prepay for golf rounds. A punch card purchase gives the purchaser two free rounds. You pay for 8 rounds, but have 10 punches on the card. The following rates
include tax:

OPENING DAY as weather permits, the course usually opens the first week in April.

COURSE RULES and REGULATIONS

Please review the course rules and regulations that are printed on our score cards. These rules help to regulate play, improve safety and promote good golf etiquette.

Last year we asked that you work on speeding up play. This year we ask that you remember to start your play on Hole #1. Please do not jump in and start play on other holes unless given permission from clubhouse staff. If the group in front of you is slow, please respectfully ask to play through them. Do not just jump in front of them.

USGA HANDICAPS

Deer Run is affiliated with the USGA handicap program. For a yearly fee of $17, we will enter your scores from all rounds, and USGA will issue you a monthly USGA Handicap Card with your newly adjusted handicap.

AGE LIMITS

Children ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult in order to golf. Teens must show proof of driver’s permit in order to rent a cart, or drive their parents’ cart without an adult. Members, please do NOT allow your child (under the age of 14) to drive your cart on the course without an adult in the cart with them.

TRAIL FEES

The yearly trail fee for members using their cart on to the course, but storing at home, is $75.

GOLF LEAGUES

League play begins in May. The course will be closed on Monday and Thursday nights for league play. If you are interested in joining a golf league, contact the following individuals:

TEE TIMES

Golf reservations can be made as early as Thursday of the weekend you desire tee times. Tee times are taken for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If you cannot make your tee time, please call to cancel.

HIGH SCHOOL GOLF MEETS

During April and early May, Deer Run will host a few high school golf meets. These meets will generally be on a Mon. or Tues. afternoon. Be sure to check the tournament schedule for these events.

Thanks again! Donna Weinrich Lucht, family, friends and business associates have sponsored a yearly golf tournament for the primary purpose of raising money to help Deer Run golf course improve its looks and playability.
